Store Credit Guide

Revel allows you to issue refunds in the form of store credit.


Enabling Store Credit

Store credits must be enabled on the Management Console ([yoursubdomain] before they can be used on the Point of Sale.

  1. Go to the Settings tab.
  2. Click Clear Selections.
  3. Enter receiptless in the search field
  4. Check the box next to Receiptless Returns.
  5. Check the boxes next to Enable Receiptless Return and Store Credit.
  6. Click Save:


Permission to issue and receive store credit is enabled individually on each Point of Sale station, which allows you to limit its use to particular stations according to your preferences and policies.

To enable or disable store credit on a Point of Sale station:

  1. On the Management Console go to the Establishments tab.
  2. Click the name of a station to select it.
  3. Under Payment Options find Store Credit under Available or Displayed.
  4. To enable store credit on the station, drag the store credit box to Displayed:


Creating a Store Credit

Begin the void or return as per the instructions for QSR/TSR or Retail. If the order shows a negative balance, you can create a store credit.

From the Checkout screen:

  1. Tap Store Credit:


  2. Tap Okay.
  3. Select a receipt type by tapping Print or Email.
  4. If you chose to send a receipt by email:
    1. Enter the customer's email address.
    2. Tap Send.
    3. Tap Okay.
  5. If you have already added a customer's name to the return, tap Link Current Customer. Otherwise, tap Add Customer to link the store credit to a customer or Dismiss to complete the store credit without linking it:


  6. Tap Done:


Store Credit as Payment

If the store credit is not linked to a customer, you must have the receipt the customer received when the credit was created. When you reach the payment screen:

  1. Tap Store Credit:


  2. Scan the barcode on the store credit receipt, or enter the Store Credit Number from the bottom of the receipt in the field under Enter Card Number.
  3. Tap Okay:


If the store credit is linked to a customer, you can find the number by looking the customer up as described below.

Look Up a Store Credit

From the New Order screen:

  1. Tap the Customers icon.
  2. Scroll to the customer's name.
  3. Tap the Information icon beside the customer's name. The store credit number and the amount of the credit will be listed under Gift Cards:



From the Customer Details:

  1. Tap Manage Customers:


  2. Type the customer's name into the search field or scroll to select a customer. Tap the customer's name to select it
  3. The store credit number and the amount of the credit will be listed under Gift Cards:


To look up a store credit balance from the Dashboard, you will need the store credit number. You can find this on the bottom of the store credit receipt, or by looking up the customer as described above.

From the dashboard:

  1. Tap Store Credit:


  2. Scan the store credit or enter the store credit number:


  3. Tap Next.
