If your Revel Point of Sales loses connection with your Revel network, you can still process sales and payments using Offline Mode (also known as Always on Mode).

Point of Sale Settings

If you would like your point of sale to notify you when it has lost connection with the Revel network, follow the below steps:

  1. In the Management Console ([yoursubdomain].revelup.com), navigate to the Settings tab.
  2. In the Settings tab, click Clear Selections from the left and type Offline in the search bar.
  3. Check the boxes next to Notify if station is offline and POS offline interval so the actual settings appear on the right side of the screen.
  4. If you want your station to alert you if it has lost connection to the Revel network, enable the setting Notify if station is offline.
  5. For the POS offline interval, choose 5, 10, or 15. This will set the number of minutes the station will check to see if it has gone offline.
  6. Click Save when done:

Offline Payment Settings

After you have enabled your offline point of sale settings, the next step is to customize your offline payment settings. To do so:

  1. Stay in the Settings tab.
  2. Click Clear Selections and type Offline in the search bar.
  3. Check the box next to Offline Payments so the actual settings appear on the right side of the screen.
  4. If you would like to accept credit card payments when your system has lost internet connection, check the box next to Enable offline credit card payments.
  5. If you want your point of sale to automatically ask for customer information anytime you take an offline credit card payment, check the box next to Request customer data when accept payment offline.
  6. If you want your point of sale to show a message alerting you that you are about to take an offline payment, check the box next to Show warning message before approve offline payment.
  7. Next, fill out the following:
    • Max amount for single offline payment: This is the maximum dollar amount for any single offline payment.
    • Max total amount for all unprocessed offline payments: This is the maximum total dollar amount for all unprocessed offline payments. Once your system reaches this threshold, you cannot take anymore offline credit card payments until your system is back online and can process the current offline payments.
    • Max threshold of total amount for all outstanding declined payments: This is the maximum total dollar amount for all declined credit card payments taken when the system was offline.
  8. Once you have enabled the desired settings, click Save:
