What are “Comps” and how to use them

Comp stands for “complimentary” and represents an item or a product that is given away for free, products that are “on the house". To use comps, follow this procedure on a POS station:

1. Ring an order
2. Hit pay
3. Tap on the item
4. Look for an option saying "comps"
5. Select whether comp is for a selected item or for all
6. Enter the reason for why you are complimenting the order
7. The order will be given for free and the balance due will be zero. Hit done once finished

 

If items are complementary and the owner would like to have the comps update the Cost per Unit, log into the management console and go to Settings>Inventory Settings and enable 'Comps Update Unit Cost'.
