How to Create Group Combos

By Kelsey | Updated

Group Combos give you the option to create and sell a predefined combination of products for a set price, sold at a price less than or equal to the sum of the individual products in the combo. For example, you could sell a pizza with a 2-liter soda and a side of breadsticks as a combo or a sandwich with chips and a drink. If you only have two items that you are selling as part of a "combo" it's best to set those up as discounts instead.

The total price for a group combo can never be more than the sum of the products in the combo. It must be less than or equal to the sum of the individual products in the combo.

There are two ways to enable the price saving details when creating your combos:

  1. Use the Is Combo Saving option to select a product group within the combo that will be discounted to achieve the price savings offered by the combo.
  2. Set a Combo Price for each product group within the combo to gain complete control over how much of a discount is applied to each item within the combo.

To create a combo using the Is Combo Saving option:

  1. On the Management Console ([yoursubdomain].revelup.com), go to the Products tab. Note: All products to be included in the combo must be created prior to creating the combo. For more details on this, check out how to build products.
  2. First, you'll need to create a shell product, which is for the combo itself on the Point of Sale. When selected, the combo options will appear on the screen where you can select the specific products to be included at the time of sale. Going forward, let's refer to the combo button as combo product.
  3. Use the + icon to expand the category and subcategory where the combo product will live.
