How to Create Group Combos

Group Combos give you the option to create and sell a predefined combination of products for a set price, sold at a price less than or equal to the sum of the individual products in the combo.

The total price for a group combo can never be more than the sum of the products in the combo. It must be less than or equal to the sum of the individual products in the combo.

There are two ways to enable the price saving details when creating your combos:

  1. Use the Is Combo Saving option to select a product group within the combo that will be discounted to achieve the price savings offered by the combo.
  2. Set a Combo Price for each product group within the combo to gain complete control over how much of a discount is applied to each item within the combo.

How to Create a Group Combo Using "Is Combo Saving"*

To create a combo using the Is Combo Saving option:

  1. On the Management Console ([yoursubdomain].revelup.com), go to the Products tab. Please Note: All products to be included in the combo must be created prior to creating the combo. Check out this article to learn how to build products.
  2. The first step of creating a group combo is to create a shell product. This combo product will create a button on the Point of Sale. When tapped, the actual product options will appear on the screen where you can select the specific products to be included at the time of sale. From here on out, the combo button will be referred to as "combo product".
  3. Use the icon to expand the category and subcategory where the combo product will live.
  4. Click +Add Product and type the combo product name. For example, Combo #1, Soup and Salad Combo, or Lunch 1/2 Soup 1/2 Salad.
  5. Fill out the combo product price. This is the total amount charged for the combo. Traditionally, the total price of the combo is less than the sum of the products in the combo if purchased individually.
  6. Click Save:

  7. Once your combo product is created and saved, click the icon in line with the new combo product:

  8. On the product details page, scroll down to the Basic Product Details/ Pricing Options/ Group Combo Options section. Check the box next to Group Combo. Leave the Set price per group for Group Combos option unchecked. Click Save:

You can use the Combo Products section to enter individual products or you can use the Combo Product Groups if you've previously created a product group that consists of all eligible products for this set.
