Managing Loyalty and Rewards for Customers

After your Loyalty and Rewards program is created and configured, you can link customers to the rewards cards and start using your program. There are two ways to link customers to rewards cards:

Once the customer is linked to their reward card, they can take advantage of the rewards program you've created for them!

You can view the Reward Card details, manage points from the Point of Sale, and return items without losing all rewards points. See how these functions are handled:

Link Customer to Rewards Card on Point of Sale

Using the Point of Sale is the most commonly used way of linking a customer to a reward card. Since reward cards are most likely going to be offered at the time of purchase, Revel has made it quick and easy to add a customer and link a reward card. 

Add Existing Loyalty Rewards in Order

  1. If you are on the order screen, tap on the order number, then select Add a Customer:
  2. Select a customer and tap Edit:
  3. Select the customer from the list by clicking on their name. Select Add to Order to open the Rewards options:
  4. The Order Details will appear. Click the Add link in the Discounts section:
  5. In the Order Discount screen, select Loyalty Reward:
  6. Click the OK button at the bottom of the screen. The Order details will open, and the discount will be listed on the page. Click Done and the discount will be added to the customer's order:

Add New Reward Card

The second way to add a Loyalty Rewards number is from the dashboard screen. You can add a new card to a customer with their first purchase.

  1. Tap Reward Cards icon:

  2. Next, swipe or enter the number of your rewards card.
  3. If the card number does not exist, tap Create.
  4. Lastly, link the Rewards Card to a customer by tapping Add Customer
  5. Select the desired customer, then tap Link.

Link Customer to Rewards Card in Management Console

Before you can link a customer to a reward card in the Management Console, you will first have to upload the card numbers.

  1. From the Management Console, click the Settings tab:
  2. Click the Clear Selections link, and type gift, rewards, and admin cards in the search bar:
  3. Check the box next to Gift, Rewards, and Admin cards in the menu that appears:
  4. From the top of the details on the right hand side of the page, click Import/Export in the Reward section:
  5. A pop-up will appear, click the Export button. This will send the Reward Card Template to your email address on file. Once downloaded, enter the reward card information and save:
  6. Lastly, import the excel file back into the Management Console:

Your reward cards are now ready to be linked to your customers! Now, let's look at how to link a customer to a Reward Card through the Management Console:

  1. From the Management Console, click the CRM link from the menu at the top of the page:
  2. Next, click the for the customer you'd like to attach a Reward Card to:
  3. From the customer details page, scroll down to the Rewards Card section and enter the card number. A drop-down will appear for you to select the card number:
  4. Click Save when you're done.

Repeat this process for each customer who has a reward card assigned to them.

View Reward Card Details

If you need to see details for a rewards card (such as the current point value), you can easily pull them up on the Point of Sale station:

  1. On the dashboard screen, tap Reward Cards.
  2. If you are using plastic rewards cards, swipe the card on your credit card swipe.
  3. If you don’t use actual physical cards to track rewards, enter the rewards card number and tap Next.
  4. The Rewards Card Info window will display all card details: Customer, Item Reward Points, and Total Purchase Rewards. In this window, tap edit to Add Item Points, view Customer Info, or add the card and customer To Order.
  5. Then tap Save.

Manage Points from Point of Sale

You can manage rewards for visits, and purchase points from the Point of Sale station. Let's take a look at how:

  1. On the dashboard screen, tap Reward Cards.
  2. If you are using plastic rewards cards, swipe the card on your credit card swipe.
  3. If you don’t use actual physical cards to track rewards, enter the rewards card number and tap Next.
  4. The Rewards Card Info window will display all card details: Customer, Item Reward Points, and Total Purchase Rewards. In this window, tap edit to Add Item Points, view Customer Info, or add the card and customer To Order.
  5. Then tap Save.

Return Items without Losing Reward Points

When a customer wishes to return multiple items that a reward program was used to purchase, you can now return the items and not lose all reward points. Revel now allows for points to be taken off only those items that are returned, and the points will stay applied to items not returned.
