  3. Click Export:3.jpg
    • NOTE: A SKU will be assigned if it has not already been done for each product. A warning pop-up will appear to confirm. If you want to manually input SKU numbers, please do so before exporting this file:

  4. Once the file has downloaded to your computer, open it. The key fields for Matrix inventory start with the Barcode column:
5.jpgNOTE: It is really helpful if you first add a sample matrix product directly in the Management Console first. Then, when the file is exported, you'll see the values for each of your parent/child products in each column, which will make adding new products a little easier to understand. To learn how to add a Matrix Product on the Management Console, please review Creating Matrix Inventory on the Management Console:
    • Barcode: Barcodes are VERY important with parent and child products, as this is what links the two together. Notice the Barcode for the Parent Product in the image above matches the info for each Child Product under Column L for Attribute Parent.
    • Active: Input Yes or No to indicate whether the product will appear on the Management Console and the Point of Sale as an active product that can be sold.
    • Attribute Type: Enter Parent, Child, or None for the type of attribute. Remember, your parent products should always be generic - without any attributes selected and no details in the product name. None should only be used if the product does not belong in a matrix.
    • Attribute Parent: You can leave this blank for Parent Products but for Child Products, enter the Barcode of the Parent Product here.
    • Attributes 1 and 2: These are the associated attributes you want the system to identify for your products, such as Size, Color, etc.
    • Attributes 1 and 2 Values: This should be left blank for your Parent Products. However, for each of your child products, each value should be a unique combination of your attributes, such as Small/Red, Medium/Red, Large/Red, Small/Blue, etc.
    • Attributes 1 and 2 Names: Use this if you want the attribute values to appear differently on the Point of Sale rather than as they are listed in the Management Console.
  5. Be sure to Save the document several times in progress so as not to lose any data. When you're ready to import, follow the steps below.

Importing a Product Matrix

  1. Once your Excel file is ready, you can import it in to the Management Console. Just as you accessed the File under Products and chose Import/Export, then Products, you'll do the same thing. At the bottom of the page, is a section for importing. Click the Choose File button in the Import section and select the file you just edited:
6.jpg NOTE: If you have more than 1000 products on the file, be sure to check the box for High Volume Import to avoid any issues.
  2. Click the Import button. A message will display that the file is being processed; you'll receive an email confirmation once the import is complete:7.jpg
  3. Now, when you return to the Products tab, your matrix inventory will be listed. The parent product will appear first and all child products will be bracketed to let you know that the matrix is completed: 9.jpg
