Creating Matrix Inventory on the Point of Sale

By Libby | Updated

If you'd like, you can create a Matrix Inventory product on your Point of Sale. You will need to create the product attributes in your Management Console before you can create a Matrix Inventory on your POS. See our article Creating Matrix Inventory in Your Management Console to see how to create the Parent and Child Products from the Product Attributes tab in the console. Once you've created these, you can follow the instructions below.

  1. Log in to your iPad Point of Sale as a Manager.
  2. From the Dashboard, select Product Setup:

  3. If you want to add your matrix items to an existing Category and/or Sub-Category, click through to add in the appropriate location. Or, you can click on +C (to add a new Category) or +S (to add a new Sub-category). Once you're at the appropriate level, click +P Add Product to begin adding your product.
  4. Fill in your product details; Name and Price are required. After entering the product info, click the  icon next to the product name:1.jpg
  5. Select the Parent Category button and choose the attributes for your child products. Save when finished on both the Matrix Options and Add New Product pages:
