Printing Modifiers

With Revel, you have the ability to attach kitchen printers and/or Kitchen Display Systems (KDS) to specific modifiers. This is useful if you want to direct certain modifiers to specific kitchen areas.

Additionally, you can select which modifiers print on customer receipts, which is useful if you charge extra for modifiers and customers generally want an itemized receipt.

Enabling the Setting

Before you can attach a printer or KDS to a modifier, you must enable the setting. To do this:

  1. On the Management Console [yoursubdomain.revelup.com], navigate to Settings.
  2. Click Clear Selections and search for Filter Modifier.
  3. Check the box on the left to display the setting on the right. Check the box on the right to activate the setting:

  4. Save when finished. 

Attaching Printers/ KDS to Modifiers

Once the setting is enabled, you can attach a printer or KDS to a modifier. To do this:

  1. From the Management Console, navigate to Products, then choose Modifiers.
  2. Expand the Modifier Class and locate the modifier you want to attach to a printer.
  3. Then, click the icon in line with the modifier to access the modifier details: 2.jpg
  4. Under Printers, choose the printer and/or KDS you'd like to print to:3.jpg
  5. Click Save when done. 

Note: The Filter Modifier Printing setting will not work unless the product is attached to a printer. Learn more about attaching products to a printer here.


Receipt Printing Options

Along with the modifiers that print to the Kitchen and/or KDS, you can choose to have modifier data print on your customer receipts as well. To do so, use the steps below:

  1. From the Management Console, navigate to Settings.
  2. Clear Selections and search for Receipt Options
  3. Mac users can command-click, PC users CTRL-click to select the options to print on customer receipts, including Modifiers and Modifier Price: 4.jpg
  4. Save when finished.
