Overview

When the dollar amount in your till reaches your set total, the Point of Sale will show a Till Alert letting you know it’s time for a safe drop.

Till Alert Settings

To use till alerts on the Point of Sale, you must first enable them on the Management Console. There are also settings you can use to customize your till alerts. To enable Till Alerts and personalize your settings:

  1. On the Management Console ([yoursubdomain].revelup.com), go to the Settings tab.
  2. Click Clear Selections and type Till Alerts in the search bar. Check the box next to Tills Alerts so the settings appear on the right side of the screen:
  3. The Till Alerts settings are:
    • Enable Till Alerts: This setting must be turned on for till alerts to work.
    • Alert Email: Enter your email address to get your till alerts via email.
    • Show Alert to Cashier: Enable this if you want your cashier to receive till alerts when logged in to the Point of Sale.
    • Alert Interval in Minutes: If an alert is dismissed, enter how many minutes before it reappears.
    • Alert Each Completed Sale: If enabled, the till alert will appear after every completed sale, regardless of the set alert interval.
    • Till Alerts by Currency: If enabled, you can set till alerts for various currency types. This is described in more detail in the following section.
    • Till Alerts by Day and Night: Enable this if you want to set different till alerts depending on the time of day. This is described in more detail in the following section.


    Please Note: The following settings are only visible if Till Alerts by Currency is not enabled:

    • Alert Amount: Till Alerts are activated (either on the Point of Sale or via email) when the dollar amount in the cash drawer reaches this amount.
    • Deny Transaction Amount: If the till reaches this amount, the Point of Sale will no longer be able to process transactions until a safe drop is made.
    • Maximum Safe Drop: This is the highest dollar amount allowed for safe drops. If no amount is entered, there is no maximum:
  4. Click Save when done.

Tills Alerts— Foreign Currency Tracking

If your business accepts multiple currencies, you can create till alerts based on those currencies. To do this:

  1. Pull up the Till Alerts settings following the steps in the above section.
  2. Enable Till Alerts by Currency. Once this setting is turned on, the following fields will appear:
    • Base Currency
      • Alert Amount: The till alert will appear per normal standards when the amount is reached in the base currency.
      • Deny Transaction Amount: If the till reaches this amount in the base currency, the Point of Sale will no longer be able to process transactions until a safe drop is made.
      • Maximum Safe Drop: This is the highest dollar amount in the base currency allowed for safe drops. If no amount is entered, there is no maximum.
    • Alt Currency 1: Fill out the Alert Amount, Deny Transaction Amount, and Maximum Safe Drop fields for the first alternative currency.
    • Alt Currency 2: Fill out the Alert Amount, Deny Transaction Amount, and Maximum Safe Drop fields for the second alternative currency.
    • Alt Currency 3: Fill out the Alert Amount, Deny Transaction Amount, and Maximum Safe Drop fields for the third alternative currency:
  3. Click Save when done.

Tills Alerts— By Day and Night

If you need to set different till alerts based on time of day, you can use Till Alerts by Day and Night:

  1. Pull up the Till Alerts settings by following the steps in the above section.
  2. Enable Till Alerts by Day and Night. This setting must be turned on for the feature to work. The following fields will appear:
    • Day Start: The start time for the day till alert.
    • Day End: The end time for the day till alert.


    Please Note: The night till alert will be for all hours outside the day start and day end range.

    • Base Currency/ Day
      • Alert Amount: Enter the base currency amount threshold for the day till alert.
      • Deny Transaction Amount: If the till reaches this amount during the day range in the base currency, the Point of Sale will no longer be able to process transactions until a safe drop is made.
      • Maximum Safe Drop: This is the highest dollar amount in the base currency allowed for safe drops made during the day range. If no amount is entered, there is no maximum.
    • Base Currency/ Night
      • Alert Amount: Enter the base currency amount threshold for the night till alert.
      • Deny Transaction Amount: If the till reaches this amount during the night range in the base currency, the Point of Sale will no longer be able to process transactions until a safe drop is made.
      • Maximum Safe Drop: This is the highest dollar amount in the base currency allowed for safe drops made during the night range. If no amount is entered, there is no maximum.
    • Currency 1, Currency 2, and Currency 3 / Day:
    • Fill out the Alert Amount, Deny Transaction Amount, and Maximum Safe Drop fields for currency 1,2, and 3 day ranges.
    • Currency 1, Currency 2, and Currency 3/ Night—
    • Fill out the Alert Amount, Deny Transaction Amount, and Maximum Safe Drop fields for currency 1,2, and 3 night ranges.
  3. Click Save when done.
