Summary

Synced Point of Sale systems share order data in real time through a Main Syncing Station so that an order placed on one station can be accessed on another. Syncing also allows you to batch out credit card accounts and adjust tips for multiple stations at once.

Syncing Stations

Synced stations are communicate through a Main Syncing Station.You can designate any Point of Sale station as the main station. Synced stations must all have the same network key. For each network key there should be only one Main Syncing Station. Two main syncing stations with the same network key can cause problems with syncing payment data.

Synced stations handle all credit card batch processing and tip adjustments at once through the main syncing station.

Synced stations are useful if your employees need to create an order at one station and close it out at another. They also allow employees to access table status in real time from any station.

To set up syncing stations, contact your Revel agent.


Non-Syncing Stations

Non-Syncing Stations do not share order information in real time, so an order placed on one station will not be accessible on any other station. They do not require a main syncing station. Batch processing and tip adjustment must be done separately for every non-syncing station. This can be useful if you need to keep credit card batches from different stations separate.

If you need to run non-syncing stations but batch process all credit card payments at once, ask your Revel agent about enabling Capture on Swipe.
