Finding Hidden WiFi SSID Names on iOS 13

With the upcoming iOS 13 release, hidden WiFi SSID names will not be visible unless Location Services is enabled.

Please make sure Location Services is enabled in your iPad's Settings menu.

Enabling Location Services

To enable Location Services on the iPad:

  1. Tap Settings:
  2. Tap Privacy:
  3. Toggle Location Services to on:
  4. On the Location Services page, locate and tap the Revel POS app:
  5. Tap Always under Allow Location Access:

Why do I need to turn on Location Services?

In IOS 13, Apple has updated its WIFI SSID setting to be hidden. We need access to this in order see your network so we can troubleshoot your connectivity issue.

What is an SSID?

A service set identifier (SSID) is a sequence of characters that uniquely names a wireless local area network (WLAN). An SSID is sometimes referred to as a "network name." This name allows stations to connect to the desired network when multiple independent networks operate in the same physical area.
