KDS Redirect

Overview

The KDS redirect function allows you to redirect all orders to another display when you close a display. This is different from the kitchen flow bump feature, which moves an order through multiple screens as the order progresses. When you redirect orders, all orders on that KDS will be sent to another KDS.

Enabling KDS Redirect

First you'll need to enable KDS Redirect on the Management Console:

  1. In the Management Console ([yoursubdomain].revelup.com), go to the Establishments tab.
  2. Click Stations:

  3. Select a Station from the list and scroll down to the Peripherals section.
  4. Check the box labeled KDS Redirect.
  5. Click Save:

Redirecting Orders on the KDS

  1. On the kitchen display dashboard, tap the redirect icon:
  2. On the drop-down list, select a KDS to receive the redirected orders:

  3. In the pop-up window, tap Apply. Note that this will close the KDS whose orders you're redirecting:

Redirecting Orders on the Point of Sale

  1. From the point of sale dashboard, go to Settings:

    kdsredirect_settings.jpg
  2. Tap Kitchen Displays.
  3. Tap the redirect toggle switch for the KDS from which you want to redirect orders.
  4. Tap Redirect to:

  5. Select the KDS to which you want to redirect orders:

  6. In the pop-up window, tap Apply. Note that this will close the KDS whose orders you're redirecting:

Undoing a Redirect

At some point you may want to undo a redirect and return orders to their original KDS. You can undo your redirect from the receiving KDS or the point of sale.

To undo a redirect on the KDS:

  1. When a KDS receives redirected orders, the redirect icon will change. On the KDS receiving redirected orders, tap the new icon:
  2. Tap the name of the KDS sending the redirected orders:

  3. Note that you will not be able to redo the redirect from this station. If you want to reinstate the redirect, start over from the redirecting KDS or the point of sale. To undo the redirect, tap Apply:

To undo a redirect on the point of sale:

  1. From the point of sale dashboard, go to Settings.
  2. Tap Kitchen Displays
  3. Find the KDS that is currently being redirected and tap the redirect toggle to turn redirecting off.
