CDS XT Trouble Shooting

Below are some issues you might come across with CDS XT and their resolutions.


Issue

CDS XT looks like CDS 1.0 app.

Resolution 

CDS XT is a separate app from CDS 1.0. Ensure you have the CDS XT app installed on your iPad, not the "Revel CDS" app.


Issue 

CDS XT is stuck on Demo Screen and not synchronizing with the Point of Sale:

Resolution

  1. Refresh the Point of Sale.
  2. Ensure the Point of Sale and CDS version are compatible. Read this article to find out how to check version.
  3. Check the iPad network settings, per this article.

Issue 

Management Console setting changes are not pushing to CDS XT.

Resolution

  • CDS XT is configured using the new Branding Tool. Check out this article to learn all about how to configure the CDS XT via the Branding Tool.
  • The Branding Tool can be accessed in the Management Console under Settings > Advanced POS Settings > Customer Display System > CDS XT Branding Customization:
  • It can also be accessed in the Establishment > Branding Tool page:

  • The following settings do NOT affect CDS XT (they are for CDS 1.0 only):
    • Management Console > Advanced POS Settings > 
      • Welcome Message
      • Screen Organization
      • Animation Set
      • Welcome Screen Animation Set
      • Background Screen Image
      • Logo Image
      • Select Color Palette
